They sought a party that could translate the chosen theme into decoration and atmosphere at the venue.
During the introduction, it quickly became apparent that there was a need for more than just decoration. From catering and technology to supplementing the entertainment program: from a small question grew the desire to take the event as a whole to a higher level. Tech Benelux not only had to be well organized, but also had to make more impact.
Tech Benelux is an annual in-house exhibition at Van Domburg Partners. As a reseller of screens in a variety of formats and applications, they bring suppliers and clients together here. Visitors get the chance to discover new products directly from suppliers, while Van Domburg Partners strengthens their role as a connecting link.
The fair takes place at its own location, with the warehouse also becoming part of the event. Each year Tech Benelux is dedicated to a theme. This time it was ‘the space’. The program consisted of a combination of exhibition floor, lectures and networking. The highlight was an inspiring keynote by astronaut André Kuipers, who offered a unique perspective from his own experiences.
The atmosphere was casual, with plenty of room for meeting, sharing knowledge and strengthening relationships with partners, suppliers and customers.
The biggest challenge lay in the fact that this was the first time Van Domburg Partners had worked with an external event partner. The internal team was still figuring out exactly what they needed support with and what that collaboration should look like.
In addition, during the process there were suppliers who could not fully deliver what was needed. This created uncertainty at times. By communicating openly, expressing expectations and looking for solutions together, the team managed to turn these challenges into a strong end result.
Our added value was in several layers. First, in the creative translation of the space theme. Thanks to our extensive network, we were able to use special materials from home and abroad: from large inflatable planets in the atrium to original NASA suits and items that have actually been in space.
That mix ensured that the theme was felt everywhere and the fair really became an experience. In addition, we took a large part of the organization out of their hands. Van Domburg Partners could fully focus on their guests and content, while we took care of the execution.
The cooperation was a bit of a search in the beginning, but quickly grew into a fine and open collaboration. By discovering together what was and was not outsourced, a working form emerged that was pleasant for both parties.
The trust grew during the process and laid the foundation for more. So strong, in fact, that it was immediately decided to work together again the following year, this time at an external location.
Tech Benelux turned out to be a very successful edition. The event attracted more visitors than in previous years and received many enthusiastic responses, not only from visitors but also from suppliers. Many immediately expressed their desire to attend again next year.
Together with Van Domburg Partners, an exhibition was set up that made the step to growth possible. Tech Benelux is firmly on the map and ready for the next phase, with more space, more impact and even more experience.
